Today Alltop added Home Business Posts to their directory! For those of you who may not know too much about Alltop they are a little different than your normal directory that you might encounter on the web. They refer to themselves as the “online magazine rack” of the web.
Alltop bases their submissions not on algorithms or popular voting, but consider themselves highly subjective and judgmental. What this means is that if you write a post saying how great and wonderful they are you just might find your website listed at the top of your selected category in the directory. You might even have such great content that they feel compelled to list your site higher than the authority sites. This is a direct quote from Alltop:
We take care of our friends. If sites or blogs help us, we help them. In particular, we have lots of friends in Moms.alltop.com.
As you can see, I am trying to get my site ranked just a little better by bribing them with this post. I do want to give you a break down of what they are all about though. I do like the content that they provide in their directory. It isn’t just a bunch of mumbo jumbo. It has a lot of great blogs.
Register With Alltop
They have an option to register with them and select the sites that you would like to keep tabs on. Not to mention that they aggregate the RSS feeds of those sites to help display the most current content before going directly to the site! This can help with your SEO as well.
Share Your Alltop Favorites On Facebook And Twitter
It really is a cool directory. I have already registered and saved a bunch of my favorites with them. They allow you to share your favorites via Facebook and Twitter as well. What I really like about this particular directory is that each page has it own page rank.
Alltop Has Great Category Pagerank
Most directories that you go to will not have a page rank at all. Alltop has worked hard to get every page in their directory a high page rank, alexa rank, and compete rank.
I really do think you should take some time to submit your blog to Alltop! At least check out the directory to see if they have any cool blogs that might interest you!

It took me about 2 weeks before I noticed that my blog had been added. I didn’t get any kind of notification that it had been listed. Not sure if I just didn’t get the email from them or if they just don’t have the time to tell you. Go ahead and verify me in their blogging category. Since I am a new blog I won’t get a good rating, but there are lots of great blogs listed in this particular category.
